Ten years ago TecCom GmbH was founded at Automechanika, the leading international trade fair for the automotive industry, by twenty leading part manufacturers of the independent automotive aftermarket. In addition to electronic order processing, which has established itself across Europe as an industry standard, TecCom provides suppliers and wholesalers in the independent aftermarket with solutions to optimise the entire supply chain. This year TecCom is showing in Hall 5_6.1 on Stand A 10 how the different software solutions interact in order to achieve the greatest possible efficiency in business processes.

“TecCom was founded with the goal of standardising and automating business processes between part manufacturers and wholesalers. Connecting all suppliers and wholesalers to a common platform makes it possible to sink the costs substantially for all processes.  Instead of investing money in developing individual solutions, today industry and trade join in working groups to develop simple new solutions. With the bundling of competences we can all raise the long-term competitiveness of the independent automotive replacement part market,” says Jürgen Buchert, managing director of TecCom GmbH, explaining the strategic considerations in the market.

The business development of TecCom was steep from the very beginning. Already three years after the company’s founding a million inquiry and order line items were handled monthly by the platform.  Since 2004 TecCom can claim market leadership in Europe. Today more than 13,000 wholesalers and 160 suppliers worldwide – from Aachen in Germany to Zapopan in Mexico – trust TecCom by sending more than ten million inquiry and order line items every month.

New solutions for even more efficiency

Since the TecOrder solution has been accepted as the industry standard for electronic order processing in the independent automotive replacement part market, TecCom has been acting at the request of market participants to use its extensive market know-how to develop new solutions to optimise additional business processes in the automotive aftermarket. The solution portfolio now includes TecInvoice for legally valid paperless invoice traffic; TecCMD for the preparation, distribution and use of article, price and logistic data; TecWarranty for the electronic handling of warranty cases and returns; TecCMI for the optimisation of stock and warehouse planning; and TecIdentify to check automotive parts for authenticity.

All TecCom applications are designed with a common goal: to sink costs in the delivery chain and increase efficiency. But TecCom offers even more: “When you decide to use TecCom, you don’t just get software. Because we know the business very well, we can offer our customers professional process consulting.
