Since 1 July suppliers are able to respond to inquiries and orders with the net price per unit.

As a standard, TecCom uses the field “Price 2” for the net single-unit price instead of Euro conversion. The field “Price 2” was originally used for conversion into the Euro currency from local currency. Since then different suppliers have used it for different purposes without any consistency.

This change harmonizes the processes within the TecCom community and results in a common standard among users of different formats: TecLocal, CAP or tXML with TecOpen Messaging (TOM) integration. Recently, wholesalers from different countries approached TecCom with the request to take action. After discussion with suppliers and evaluation of the technical changes, we decided to implement the change in the price field on 1 July.

This means that suppliers will use the field “Price 2” for the net single-unit price or leave it empty. Use of the field “Price 1” will not change; it will contain either: no price; the gross price per unit/ number of pieces; or the total net price for the confirmed quantity.
