Innovation Prize 2007 ITK Won by TecCom Initiative for Medium-Sized Companies Awards Prize to the Solution TecCMI for Optimized Inventory
TecCom is the winner of the Innovation Prize 2007 ITK (IT & Telecommunications)from the Initiative for Medium-Sized Companies. The independent jury of specialized journalists selected TecCom from more than 1,200 applications as the winner in the category “Purchasing/Supply Chain Management.” The Initiative for Medium-Sized Companies has awarded the Innovation Prize ITK during the CeBIT trade fair in Hannover, Germany, every year since 2004. It recognizes companies that have developed particularly innovative products that benefit medium-sized companies.

The prize was for the TecCMI software. CMI stands for Collaborative Managed Inventory. As a stand-alone solution or integrated with the TecCom B2B platform, it enables stock management that is managed and optimized together by the trader and the supplier. This reduces the total stock capital; it also sinks transport costs by avoiding expensive individual and extra deliveries. Traders benefit from simpler order processing and can provide their own customers with higher part availability. |
TecCMI works very simply. It uses historical data and daily stock data to calculate forecasts for order quantities, order times and sales. By using the TecCMI Cockpit, customer and supplier have the same view of these forecasts. If an order takes place, the order line items are then transferred to the customer’s MMS. This eliminates differing inventory totals. Reservations, back orders, open orders and dates are considered by the system – the best basis to manage sales and stock disposition precisely.

“Recognition with the Innovation Prize shows once again that we have a great product with TecCMI. TecCMI has been extremely well received throughout Europe. We think that soon there will be numerous applications in Germany,” says Dirk Karsten Mayer, responsible for TecCMI at TecCom.
